By utilizing RF sublation – fractionated bipolar radio frequency technology—heat energy is effectively placed into the dermis where it can produce significant dermal impact with minimal epidermal disruption.
Why choose the eMatrix Eyes Wide Open treatment?
The eyes are the first place we begin to see signs of aging. It is also the first point of contact when people look at you. Help turn back the clock and keep everyone guessing. The eMatrix Eyes Wide Open treatment is optimal for any patients concerned with laxity and “crepiness” around their eyes. Go where lasers cannot: safely target eye tissue with this new technology designed for the upper and lower lids with little to no downtime!
Who is this procedure for?
The eMatrix Eyes Wide Open treatment is wonderful for anyone looking for a lifted, more open appearance to their eyes. Smooth fine lines and soften wrinkles with this simple procedure, and notice a lifted upper lid. Laxity is decreased, and even puffiness around the eye can improve.
Where do we treat?
The eMatrix treatment is offered in our office for improvement and rejuvenation of the delicate skin around the eyes; this includes the upper and lower eyelids as well as above and over the brow.
What does it feel like?
The eMatrix is a very tolerable procedure for around the tissues of the eye. Though it is not pain-free and there is mild discomfort, treatment is very simple and does not take long at all. Energy is transmitted through each pin on the hand piece and is pulsed directly onto the skin. A dull stinging feeling can be experienced for up to an hour after treatment, and is comparable to a sunburn sensation. A local numbing agent can be applied 30 minutes prior to the procedure if needed, but most patients find this is not necessary.
What is the downtime and what should I expect?
Immediately Post treatment, eyes appear fairly red, possibly with mild swelling (think bad allergies). This usually lasts until the next afternoon and starts to subside. Applying a cold compress or ice pack to the eyes five minutes every hour to calm the affected area is helpful. Also, propping your pillow up at night and taking a 200mg ibuprofen can relieve swelling. The hand piece is a 64 pin tip, which can leave very small pin impressions around the treated tissue for 3-5 days, although not everyone experiences this. A darker or ‘bronzed’ appearance may be seen when the top layer of tissue becomes dry and eventually flakes off, revealing beautiful, new skin underneath.
When do I see changes?
Changes become noticeable in as little as three to four weeks after the first eMatrix treatment. We recommend a series of three sessions around the eyes spaced four weeks apart for optimal results. The end result can last between one to two years! Here is a video that provides more information about the process.
